Disqualifying a Pilot in a sequence
![]() |
||||||||||
From time to time it is necessary to
disqualify a Pilot for some misdemeanour, usually during a sequence
flight. Disqualifications are serious events, and must normally be
directly approved by the Contest Jury or the Chief Judge. During this process the Pilots marks MUST NOT be set to zero as this would misrepresent what has actually occurred and as a result the contest file would not be accurate. Instead ACRO sets a marker in the file against the relevant Pilot / sequence and allows the scorer to enter the details of the disqualification - this information is clearly printed on the Pilots Raw Score Sheet. |
||||||||||
When results are calculated the following options are available for disqualified pilots:
●
The pilots sequence score is included but displayed
as "Disq." ● The pilots sequence score is included but displayed as a blank space ● The pilots marks can be excluded from the calculation process for the sequence |
||||||||||
Note that when FPS is set for a sequence you should always include all disqualified pilots as their grades are vital to the statistical balance and flow of marks from the whole judging panel and they are part of the correct result. For raw grades sequences use any option. |

||||||||
● | Either enter the figure number that caused the Pilots disqualification, or if the reason is not associated with a specific figure then enter a 0 (zero) instead to signify this is a general disqualification that is not associated with one specific figure.
● | Enter the cause of the disqualification as given by the Chief Judge. This text will be clearly printed on the Pilots Raw Marks Check-Sheet, and on the report that you can run.
● |
When the details are correct, click the Proceed button to post the disqualification.

Disqualified Pilots scores can either be excluded from all results listings, or their score slot shown as "Disq" or left blank, with there will be no indication of the actual reason.

Re-Instating a disqualified Pilot
If necessary - again on the direct instruction of the Jury, Chief Judge or Contest Director - you can subsequently re-instate a disqualified Pilot. This will erase the disqualification record and release the Pilots sequence marks to be included in all results calculations.
